Katie Smith
Katie SmithProgramme Manager
Katie joined The Mintridge Foundation in January 2018 to support the development of future programmes and events. With a background in education, physical activity and health, Katie is using her knowledge and experience as a qualified PE teacher and netball coach, to help develop more successful mentoring programmes.
As a teenager Katie grew up surrounded by netball – playing, coaching and umpiring as part of county and regional teams and has coached a variety of ages and abilities. During her time at university Katie started playing lacrosse, a completely new experience and played as part of the first team, for four years in the BUCS championships.
Since qualifying as a teacher and Level 2 netball coach, Katie has worked with different age groups and abilities in challenging environments across the country and has taken the lead on different sport participation programmes. Katie is excited to be working with The Mintridge Foundation and hopes to enhance the programmes we deliver to help more people be a part of the Mintridge experience.
Phil Weston
Phil WestonConsultant
Phil acts as a Consultant for Mintridge advising on all strategic aspects, most notably in engaging with ambassadors and potential partners from the Corporate World. Phil runs the Cricket division in the United Kingdom for TLA Worldwide. TLA is a leading Athlete Management and Sports Marketing business based in the UK, the USA and Australia. With access to over 900 current athletes, some of the leading corporate brands and excellent relationships with Governing Bodies in many sports, TLA are well placed to assist in Mintridge’s quest for strategic growth.

As a former first class cricketer himself – he played for Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Derbyshire over a 17 year career from 1991-2007 – Phil fully understands the challenges elite athletes face and the importance of providing a strong support network for them as they transition from a playing career into the mainstream. This is a central element to Mintridge’s use of ambassadors throughout their programmes.

Patrick Latham
Patrick LathamProgramme and Marketing Manager
Patrick was thrilled to be able to join the Mintridge team in April 2017 as Programme & Marketing Manager.
Patrick’s history is in education. He was Director of Sport at St John’s College School in Cambridge and also Director of Cricket at Bedford Prep School. He currently coaches hockey and cricket at Oakham School, alongside running his own business as a graphic designer and illustrator from his family home in Oakham. Patrick’s sporting background is in cricket, having played the bulk of his career with Cambridgeshire CCC, with Somerset 2nd XI in 1999 and touring with MCC to Ghana and The Gambia in early 2003. He now plays at Uppingham CC in the Leicestershire Cricket League.
As an educationalist, Patrick loves nothing more than to see young people having an opportunity, seeing them progress and ultimately realising their potential, succeeding at whichever level they achieve within their chosen sport. Personally, he has a great love of sport with a particular interest in Eventing, although he possesses a very limited equestrian ability!
